Investment Proposal upto Rs 62,000 cr in Jharkhand

Jharkand government signed MoU worth Rs. 62,000 crore with the giants of business. Adani Group investing Rs. 50,000 crore in the state of which Rs 15,000 crore is proposed to set up two thermal power plants. Rs 35 Crore will be used to set up a unit that will produce coal-based methane fertiliser.

Vedanta Group will also invest Rs 2,000 crore to set up a steel plant in the state. Industry department of Jharkhand also received 11 letters from different companies committing an investment of Rs 10,000 crores under chemical, IT, textile and construction sectors.

The MoUs were exchanges in the presence of Jharkhand CM Raghubar Das at the Make In India Week function in Mumbai. The state government also released the new industrial and investment promotion policy to ensure further ease of doing business. In order to smoothen business Jharkhand government has reduced the frequency of inspection to once in five years said CM Raghubar Das. Besides, only one return for the factories and other establishments to fill before the labour department annually, which was earlier 36. Around 58 categories of industries are exempted for obtaining consents to operate and establish, Das added.

CM also told that Tata Steel has agreed to enlarge its steel production by one million tonne. The company currently produces 10 million ton steel which would be increased to 11 million tonne.
