Requirements of 19,000 teachers through SSC in West Bengal

West Bengal government issued a notice to recruit about 19,000 teachers in government-aided schools.

The recruitment process will be conducted under the West Bengal Central School Service Commission of which first phase of the test will be conducted soon.

Government-aided secondary and higher secondary schools of the state have around 19,000 vacancies. The highest number of vacancies is for mathematics teachers (3,114), followed by biology (2,187), chemistry (1,787), English (1,763), and Bengali (1,090). Vacancies for the post of general subjects count 15,947 in which vacant posts for work education is 1,019 and physical education is 1,237.

For the first time SSC is recruiting teachers for classes IX to XII. Till now recruitments have taken place for filling up vacancies up to class VIII. Thus, Candidates are asked to apply between February 19 and March 15, howsoever, the examination date is not announced.

Shortlisted candidates would have to appear for an interview.
