SIMI operatives arrested in Rourkela

In a major breakthrough four susceptive of the banned Students’ Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) were arrested on Tuesday night from a rented house in Rourkela, Odisha.
Three hours of firing ended up with the arrest of three suspect who were active in five states naming Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Telangana and Tamil Nadu. The operation has been carried out jointly by Odisha Police, Telangana Police and Intelligence Bureau.
All suspects hail from Madhya Pradesh and had been staying in the rented house at Qureshi Mohalla locality for past five months. Police found five guns and ammunition on search of their house. KB Singh, Director General of Odisha Police told that all suspects were wanted by the National Investigation Agency of India.
According to police all the four were allegedly involved in terrorist activities for the past four years and responsible for around 17 bomb blasts across the country. They were also involved in several bank robberies, including one in Sundargarh district of the state.
