Tala Tudu Selected for Sahitya Akademi Prize for Translation 2015

Tala Tudu will be awarded Sahitya Akademi Prize for Translation 2015 for translating Saratchandra Chattopadhyay’s famous novel “Porineeta” into santhali version “Baplanij”.
Tala Tudu belongs to Karandih, Jamshedpur, Jharkhand and presently working for Tata Steel.
The Executive Board of the Sahitya Akademi took the decision in a meeting under the Chairmanship of its President, Professor Vishwanath Prasad Tiwari at Rabindra Bhavan, New Delhi on 15th February, 2016. This year board selected 23 books for the Sahitya Akademi Translation Prize 2015.
The Prize carries an amount of Rs.50,000 and a copper plaque which will be presented to each of the translators later this year.
