6 Venues Finalized for FIFA U-17 World Cup 2017

India will be hosting FIFA Under-17 World Cup for the first time in 2017. This will be the 17th edition of the FIFA U-17 World Cup where 24 teams including the hosting country will be participating the tournament.

The confusion lingered around venues has been cleared by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a Union Cabinet meeting on March 23.

The venue for Under-17 World Cup 2017 includes JLN Stadium, New Delhi ; D.Y. Patil Stadium, Navi Mumbai; JLN Stadium, Kochi; Salt Lake Stadium, Kolkata; JLN Stadium, Fatorda Goa and I.G. Stadium Guwahati.

Moreover, a Committee comprising of Secretary, Department of Sports, DG, Sports Authority of India (SAI) and Financial Adviser has been authorized to make necessary adjustments for any changes in venues to remove difficulties in consultation with All India Football Federation (AIFF) and FIFA. The Sports Ministry has been authorized to constitute Organizing Committee, for conduct of the event.
