Protest against the biased recruiting process of Namdang Tea Estate

Youth is the power of every country, state or region whereas the youth of Namdang Tea Estate in Margherita is forced to protest for their rights. The company has been recruiting to fill up the various vacant post in the garden every year whereas many capable youths of the garden are not getting employment in the process.

The hard earned money of the tea laborer is mostly spent on the education of their children and when it’s time to reap the fruit, opportunities are given to the outsiders. Therefore, around 50 youths gathered in front of the main gate of the Namdnag T.E in Margherita to protest against the biased recruiting process of the company. With the banners and play cards in their hands they demanded the garden authority to employee the capable candidates residing in the garden. They also demanded the proper maintenance of the LP school and the connecting roads in the garden.

However, Umesh Jal of All Tea Tribe Student Association (ATTSA) said that, if the demands are not fulfilled, they will again set a protest on 19th of this month.
